Conservative TMJ Treatment

Relief from jaw pain doesn’t have to mean surgery. Most TMJ pain and discomfort can be relieved with simple, non-surgical therapies.

At Carolinas Center for Oral & Facial Surgery, our TMJ specialists provide personalized care and a full range of conservative TMJ treatments designed to ease your symptoms, improve jaw function, and restore lasting comfort.

Relief from TMJ Pain

When TMJ pain and tightness are triggered by the muscles in the jaw and face, a variety of non-surgical treatments can provide effective relief.

Our board-certified orofacial pain specialists and oral and maxillofacial surgeons develop care plans tailored to your TMJ symptoms and diagnosis, to reduce inflammation and muscle strain, stabilize and protect your TMJ joint, and restore function.

Based on your unique needs and lifestyle, your conservative TMJ treatment plan may include a combination of oral appliances and splints, physical therapy, anti-inflammatory medications, trigger-point injections, and muscle relaxants including Botox®.

We work together to find the right solution for your TMJ issues, so you can comfortably eat, speak, sleep, and smile again.
