Annika Johnson, DDS

Dr. Annika Johnson is honored to serve as a 2026–2027 Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Fellow at the Carolinas Center for Oral & Facial Surgery.

Dr. Johnson was born and raised in Minnesota and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from St. Olaf College. With a clear passion for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from early on, she gained hands-on experience in the specialty before dental school and went on to attend the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, graduating near the top of her class and earning induction into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the national dental honor society.

During dental school, Dr. Johnson was actively involved in research within the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, contributing to several peer-reviewed publications and earning recognition at both national and international levels. She was the recipient of multiple student awards, including the AAOMS Student Award and the ACOMS William H. Bell Award for Predoctoral Achievement in OMFS.

Dr. Johnson completed her Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the University of Minnesota, where she gained comprehensive training across the full scope of the specialty. She has a particular passion for orthognathic surgery and maxillofacial trauma, and is thrilled to bring her skills and dedication beyond the Minnesota tundra – and is excited to call the Carolinas home as the next chapter of her career begins.
