surgery requires an additional 4-6 years of hospital-based surgical and
anesthesia training after graduation from dental school.
Several of our surgeons have been past professors, instructors,
lecturers, & staff of major medical centers & universities. They
are published or contribute to medical school textbooks and review
journals. Each has a unique set of skill they bring to the oral surgery
team.
Along with the CCOFS staff, our oral surgery team is a collection of
highly experienced physicians with a wide range of education and
experiences. Each physician brings a unique set of skills and
specialties giving the CCOFS team deep experience in multiple surgical
specialties.

advanced training in major reconstructive surgery, cosmetic surgery,
orthognathic surgery, TMJ and full-arch dental implants.
Dr. Dailey was born and raised in Southern California. He completed
his undergraduate studies at U.C. Santa Barbara. He graduated with high
honors with a Bachelor of Science in Cell and Developmental Biology. As
an undergraduate student he was exposed to orthognathic surgery which
led him to pursue a career in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Dr. Dailey then attended U.C. Los Angeles School of Dentistry where
he received his D.D.S. At U.C. Los Angeles he was awarded the Health
Professions Scholarship with the U.S Air Force. He subsequently

to complete a 6-year oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the
University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Here he obtained his M.D.,
followed his passion for orthognathic surgery, and participated in and
published on facial nerve regeneration research. Dr. Dailey received a
resident research grant through Osteo Science for his research utilizing
dental pulp stem cells to fabricate scaffold free nerve conduits.
Dr. Dailey’s interest in optimizing multidisciplinary care for
orthognathic surgery, obstructive sleep apnea, temporomandibular joint
dysfunction and dental implant therapy naturally led him to pursue a
fellowship with the Carolinas Center for Oral, Facial, Cosmetic, and
Dental Implant Surgery.
