Biography
As the son-in-law of an oral surgeon in Anderson, South Carolina, Dr. Dunlap witnessed firsthand the life-changing outcomes that surgical treatments offer for diseases, injuries, and defects of the face, mouth, and jaws. After graduating from Clemson University, Dr. Dunlap earned his dental degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1994, followed by a residency in Oral and Facial Surgery in Charlotte, which he completed in 1999. At MUSC, Dr. Dunlap was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society, an honor awarded by election and reserved for students who have distinguished themselves through academic excellence and demonstrated exemplary character, reflecting their potential for professional growth and achievement.
He also received the American Academy of Oral Pathology Award for outstanding interest, accomplishment, and promise in the field of oral pathology. Additionally, he was honored with the American College of Prosthodontists Undergraduate Achievement Award for high academic and clinical achievement in prosthodontics. Dr. Dunlap returned to Anderson, South Carolina, to join his father-in-law in private practice. Oral surgery allows him to work with his hands while managing the challenges of private practice. He considers it both a privilege and a blessing to serve the surrounding communities, where each patient can expect high-quality, competent care in a safe and compassionate environment.

Personal Interests
Dr. Dunlap enjoys spending time with his wife, their four children and spouses, and his six grandchildren, who affectionately call him "Buddy." He plays bass and guitar, appreciates all genres of music, loves the outdoors, and is an avid backyard barbecue enthusiast who enjoys sharing good meals with family and friends.
