Dr. William Dunlap

As the son-in-law of a skilled oral surgeon in Anderson, SC, Dr. Dunlap observed first-hand the life-changing outcomes offered through the surgical treatment of diseases, injuries, and defects involving the face, mouth, and jaw. After graduating from Clemson University, Dr. Dunlap completed dental school at Medical University of South Carolina in 1994 followed by a residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Medical College of Georgia in 1999.

At MUSC, Dr. Dunlap was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society where membership is by election only and limited to those students who have distinguished themselves by excellence in scholarship, while demonstrating exemplary character traits and qualities for a future professional growth and achievement. He received the American Academy of Oral Pathology award for outstanding interest, accomplishment, and promise in the field of oral pathology. Additionally, he received the American College of Prosthodontics undergraduate achievement award for high academic and clinical achievement in prosthodontics.

He returned to Anderson, SC to join his father-in-law at his private practice. Oral and maxillofacial surgery allows Dr. Dunlap to work with his hands while simultaneously managing the demands and multiplicity of challenges encountered in private practice. He considers it a privilege and a blessing to serve the Anderson and surrounding communities where each patient can expect high-quality, competent treatment in a safe and caring environment.

When he is not treating patients, Dr. Dunlap loves spending time with his wife, four children, their spouses, and his four grandchildren who call him “Buddy”. He plays electric bass and guitar and appreciates all genres of music. He enjoys the outdoors and hunting and is an avid backyard barbecue enthusiast who loves sharing a good meal with family and friends.
