About Dr. TJ Robbins

Dr. Robbins helps patients understand their condition and supports them in making meaningful treatment plans, by utilizing a combination of medicine and dentistry. His motto is: “Helping to heal the hurt that no one sees.” He listens thoroughly and takes the extra time to understand every patient’s situation and their unique needs.

Dr. Robbins grew up in a rural area where he learned the importance of community, hard work, and teamwork. He loves working alongside other health experts at the Carolinas Center for Oral & Facial Surgery who care about their patients, staff, and community. He enjoys practicing the full scope of orofacial pain, including treatment of temporomandibular muscle and joint (TMJ) disorders, sleep breathing disorders (obstructive sleep apnea), trigeminal neuralgia and other neuropathic pains, migraines and other headache disorders, neck pain, and other painful conditions.

After earning his bachelor’s degree in biotechnology from Utah Valley University, Dr. Robbins graduated dental school at the University of Pittsburgh. While studying dentistry, he began experiencing jaw pain, neck pain, and headaches. He realized that many of his patients faced similar circumstances. After seeing multiple doctors, Dr. Robbins discovered the field of orofacial pain. He decided to dedicate his career to helping patients with these conditions. He completed a residency in Orofacial Pain and Dysfunction at the University of California, Los Angeles.
