Are you tired of looking in the mirror and seeing signs of aging? As our skin’s elasticity and firmness naturally diminish with age, fine lines and wrinkles appear. The experienced team at Carolinas Center for Oral & Facial Surgery, Southern Pines offers BOTOX® as a minimally-invasive treatment option that effectively addresses signs of aging to restore a more youthful appearance.

What is Botox and How Does Botox Work?

Botox cosmetic is a popular treatment proven to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, including frown lines, forehead lines, and crow’s feet.

The active ingredient in Botox is onabotulinumtoxinA, an FDA-approved ingredient that blocks specific chemical signals from nerves, forcing your facial muscles to relax. This treatment results in a refreshed, younger-looking appearance with fewer fine lines, facial folds, and wrinkles.

What is a Botox Treatment Like?

Botox is a quick and easy treatment that produces beautiful results. At your treatment, experienced RN, Madison Branch will use a small needle to inject the Botox serum into your facial muscles. The location of the injections depends on your individual treatment plan.

You will feel a little poke and some minor discomfort, but sedation or local anesthetic is usually unnecessary as this needle is extremely small. However, Madison may apply a topical anesthetic or ice pack to enhance your comfort before your treatment.

What Facial Areas Can Be Treated With Botox?

Forehead Wrinkles

Forehead lines—also known as forehead wrinkles, “surprise lines,” or the horizontal creases that move with our facial expressions—become more noticeable as we age, leading to an older appearance. The forehead is often one of the first places on the face to develop wrinkles, which can often be difficult to hide. With Botox, we can effectively treat and smooth forehead wrinkles for a revitalized look.

Frown Lines

Do you often appear tired, angry, or upset—even when you are not—due to the wrinkles that show up between your eyebrows? Also known as “frown lines,” these are common signs of aging that we treat with Botox in Pinehurst to help smooth out these lines and achieve a more relaxed, content look.

Crow’s Feet

While some people find the lines around the eyes endearing, some feel more self-conscious about visible signs of aging. At Carolinas Center for Oral & Facial Surgery, Madison can treat crow’s feet with Botox to help you achieve a younger-looking complexion.

Under-Eye Lines

Madison is highly experienced in strategically placing Botox around and under to achieve beautiful results. She can help you reduce your under-eye lines for a more youthful look by placing the just right amount of product.

Marionette Lines

Marionette lines extend from the corners of the mouth down toward the jaw, and sometimes the corners of the mouth will droop as well. Madison uses Botox to reduce the appearance of these wrinkles, contributing to a refreshed appearance.

How Much Does Botox Cost?

The cost of Botox varies from patient to patient, depending on the number and location of areas you wish to treat and how many units of the product are needed to achieve optimal results.

If you wish to learn more about how much your Botox treatment will cost at Carolinas Center for Oral & Facial Surgery in Pinehurst, we can discuss your goals and provide you with a cost estimate.

Botox Injection Process Explained

At Carolinas Center for Oral & Facial Surgery, Madison is well-versed in Botox and has years of experience administering this treatment. With her skill, precision, and efficiency, you can expect your Botox session to take around ten minutes, depending on the extent of your treatment.

This depends on your personalized treatment plan. Generally, we recommend patients follow up every three to four months to maintain their Botox results. Discuss this with Madison at your consultation.

Before your Botox session, it is recommended that you do not drink alcohol or take anti-inflammatory medication. When scheduling your Botox session, we will provide you with a more conclusive list of what you should and should not do leading up to your treatment date

Botox injections feel like a tiny prick. Since we use a very small needle, you should not feel any extreme pain, but you may feel some discomfort. To alleviate this, we can apply a topical anesthetic or cold compress before injecting the solution.

After your Botox treatment, you may experience some swelling, bruising, soreness, or headaches around the injection site, which should resolve within a few days. This is normal and can be managed with over-the-counter pain medication or a cold compress.
