Brow Lift in Charlotte, NC

Eyebrow creases, forehead lines, and sagging brows are common reasons to receive a brow lift, also known as a forehead lift. Rejuvenating the upper third of the face with a brow lift creates that youthful and bright-eyed appearance many patients desire. Specifically, this procedure targets excess skin of the forehead and frown lines, the upper eyelids, and eyebrows.

Our specialists aim to produce the most aesthetically pleasing results with minimal scarring. We offer many anesthesia options so you remain comfortable throughout any type of procedure.

Dr. Waheed Mohamed holds both a dental and medical degree, qualifying him to safely administer all forms of anesthesia. He is board-certified by the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery and ensures the health and safety of patients throughout any procedure. Our extremely skilled aesthetician, Tina Angers, works alongside Dr. Mohamed to educate patients and design long-term cosmetic solutions.

Types of Anesthesia

There are three main choices for anesthesia

The Brow Lift Procedure

We can perform this procedure with other cosmetic procedures, such as a facelift or eyelid surgery. Prior to undergoing any cosmetic surgery procedure, you will meet with one of our surgeons. During this visit, we will go over the steps of your treatment and discuss your options for anesthesia. Many patients undergo either general anesthesia or IV sedation for this procedure.

The needs of our patients vary. Our experts will modify the surgical aspects of your treatment to achieve optimal results for you. Your surgeon may perform what is called a coronal brow lift by making an incision from ear to ear. The forehead skin and underlying muscles are adjusted, and we conceal any scar from this method under the hairline.

Another method is called an endoscopic brow lift, which is a thin tube with a camera on the end. Your surgeon will make small incisions across the hairline and use the tube to make muscle and skin adjustments. To close the incision, your surgeon may use removable sutures, skin adhesives, or clips.

Recovery After Surgery

Your surgeon will provide detailed post-operative instructions to aid in your recovery and minimize the risk of complications. We may prescribe pain medications to manage discomfort or antibiotics to prevent infection. Some swelling and bruising may occur the week after surgery. It's not uncommon to experience swelling on areas that were not operated on, such as around the eyes or cheeks.

We recommend having ice and ice packs ready at your home to keep you comfortable and manage swelling as you heal. You should keep your head elevated as much as possible, so have extra pillows on hand. Numbness or tingling around the face is normal and will subside.

Recovery time typically lasts for 7 to 10 days. Once healed, your surgeon will remove the sutures or staples and you can resume daily activities. Avoid heavy lifting or vigorous activity for the first few weeks after your surgery to ensure optimal healing.

If at any point you experience excessive swelling, bleeding, or a fever greater than 100 degrees Fahrenheit, contact our office immediately at (704) 714-2259.
