Dr. Rick Kapitan especially enjoys the areas of dental implant reconstruction, cleft lip/palate surgery, jaw realignment, often called orthognathic surgery, and facial trauma repair. This well-educated, board-certified member of our team at Carolinas Center for Oral and Facial Surgery has both a doctor of dental surgery degree and a master’s of science from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry. His resume also includes earning a Certificate of Surgical and Anesthesia Training, an endeavor that greatly enhanced his expertise in patient care.
Dr. Kapitan’s range of professional affiliations and activities reflect his dedication to staying at the nexus of advances in dental surgery. He is a diplomate of the American Board of OMS, and is affiliated with the Southeastern Society of OMS, Academy of Osseointegration and the American Dental Association. On a personal level, Dr. Kapitan enjoys camping, hunting and fishing with his family. He lives in Weddington and makes contributions to the community through fellowship and outreach as an active member at Nativity Orthodox Christian Church.
