Every part of the face matters when it comes to helping you achieve an attractive and balanced appearance, especially the chin, which plays a major role in harmonizing your features. Whether you want a strong masculine chin, a delicately contoured feminine chin, or a chin that balances your nose, our experienced cosmetic team can help you achieve your goals with chin surgery in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Our Process

Every cosmetic chin treatment begins with a comprehensive consultation. Dr. Mohamed understands that every patient case is unique. After learning more about your aesthetic concerns, goals, and expectations, he will create an individual treatment plan that is right for you. In many cases, chin surgery combines with other cosmetic procedures, such as facial liposuction, to achieve optimal results.

Once you feel comfortable moving forward with your treatment, it is time to schedule your surgery date with Dr. Mohamed. Leading up to the procedure, he will provide you with a detailed list of preoperative instructions to follow.

The Chin Surgery Procedure

Chin surgery can be performed differently depending on your individual aesthetic goals and treatment plan. Results can be achieved with chin implants, repositioning the chin, or both. No matter which technique you choose, you will be placed under general anesthesia or IV sedation for the duration of your procedure.

If you choose implants for your chin surgery in Charlotte, Dr. Mohamed first makes a small incision inside the mouth or under the chin. Then, a sterile implant is slipped through the incision and placed in front of the chin bone. If repositioning the chin is part of your treatment plan, the chin is moved into its new position and secured with titanium screws.

Once the surgery is complete, we will move you to our comfortable recovery room, where you will rest until the anesthesia wears off.

What Does the Recovery Look Like?

After your chin surgery, you can expect to experience some discomfort, tightness, tenderness, or stretching around the jaw area. Any pain or discomfort can be managed with medications prescribed by Dr. Mohamed. You may also have some slight swelling and bruising, which can be mitigated with ice packs.

Based on your healing progress, you will likely be able to resume your normal routine and daily activities within a week of your surgery. After two weeks, most of the swelling, bruising, and discomfort should be resolved.

Dr. Mohamed and his team will provide detailed post-operative instructions for you to follow during your recovery.
