Do you want to add shape and fullness to your eyebrows? Say goodbye to spending hours pencilling in your brows to get the shape you want and hello to microblading! Eyebrow microblading, or cosmetic tattooing, is performed by a makeup artist, cosmetic specialist, or eyebrow doctor and gives you the brow shape you desire with longer lasting results than traditional makeup.

Results from eyebrow microblading can last between 1 and 3 years. We recommend having touch-ups every 12 months. Our licensed aesthetician performs microblading and touch-up sessions at our office in Charlotte, NC, and will recommend touch-ups based on your hair and skin needs. It’s important to have eyebrow blading performed by a cosmetic surgeon to prevent damaging the skin or hair and to ensure a comfortable experience and symmetrical results.

How Does Microblading Work?

When having your eyebrows microbladed, your specialist will use a fine needle to make feathered strokes to shape the brows. Unlike a tattoo gun which penetrates 7 layers of skin for permanent results, microblading only penetrates 3 layers of skin, so the results are semi-permanent. The microblading device scratches the surface of the skin and deposits pigment underneath, leaving behind natural-looking hairs that add fullness to both eyebrows.

Your initial microblading session will take between 90 minutes and 2 hours and is customized to give you the brow shape you want. After 6 weeks, you’ll return to our office for a second session where your specialist will fill in any sparse areas and complete your look.

As cosmetic professionals, we evaluate your face and skin and with your goals in mind, we will determine the final brow shape together. You’re welcome to bring in photos of the eyebrow shape you want to give us a visual reference, but this is not required.

At Carolinas Center for Cosmetic Surgery, we provide you with instructions to follow before and after your microblading treatment. We want you to feel amazing after every treatment with us and these instructions will help you care for your skin and ensure optimal results.

The Difference Between Microblading and Microshading

Both of these treatments create semi-permanent results for your eyebrows. Microshading involves making tiny dots around the outline of your eyebrows. The results are a softer finish, similar to the look of using a brow powder. Microblading is super precise and creates hair-like strokes in your existing eyebrow area. The results are more defined, similar to the look from using a brow pencil. To find out the right eyebrow treatment for you, schedule an appointment with our cosmetic team today!
